We now have 5 Lake Superior Agate Slabs available in the Rough Rock Shop, you can find them here.
These slabs are all from the Thunder Bay Region of Ontario, Canada, in fact we even know which mine they came from, it was the Armstrong Road mine.
The slabs are all approximately 5mm thick and are of a good size which would afford a good number of cabochon’s, they could be polished if you have a flat lap or vibrating lap or could be placed on a stand for display, no matter what you choose to do with them, they are a rare find in the UK!
They are thin enough to be cut on a small 4 inch trim saw and if cut carefully they will go a long way in a Lapidary workshop.
Finally I must add that these slabs were cut by our supplier as we do not have a saw big enough to cut rocks of this size.
This is an initial stock of these slabs and if they prove popular we could try to secure more from the mine owner.
